Zoom.taxi: Councils need to make sure taxis know about wheelchair regulations

Chief Operating Officer of zoom.taxi speaks to BBC Wiltshire about what can be done to ensure that disabled people are not denied access to vehicles due to a failure by drivers to understand the law.

His interview follows on from comments made by zoom.taxi after a woman and her disabled daughter were refused a ride by a series of drivers outside the main train station in Bristol before Christmas.

In recent weeks a number of reports where drivers have refused to take disabled people due to their wheelchair use or the presence of their guide dog has been reported.

Zoom.taxi believe that in order to eliminate these incidents there needs to be every possible effort made by licensing authorities to ensure drivers are fully aware of their obligations under the law as well as companies ensuring their drivers are abiding by the Equality Act 2010.
