20 Sep With a 24% increase in Private Hire Vehicles in two years how can you afford NOT to have zoom?
The latest figures from the Department of Transport shows a huge rise in the number of private hire vehicles in England – and that means more competition for you and your drivers.
Between 2015 and 2017 there was a 23.6% increase, with 39% of those in London and 61% in the rest of England.
This is an increase of over 50 per cent in the total number of licensed vehicles – or 59,000 extra competitors.
Chief executive of zoom.taxi Matt Kendall said, “The official figures show the highest number of licensed drivers and vehicles since the data was first collected and a huge increase in the last two years which is specifically in private hire vehicles rather than taxis.
“A large part of this increase can be put down to an increasing number of Uber drivers, who have been able to charge lower prices thanks to VAT loopholes.
“We were set up to help companies compete in this increasingly crowded marketplace without compromising on driver standards or customer care.
“But what these numbers show is that the need for companies to be ahead of the curve, using the latest technology and ensuring they have that access to the market at the touch of a button is essential.
“Brand loyalty is disappearing: what passengers want is availability and transparency and that’s where having a real time app is essential.
“The question is, how long can you afford NOT to have zoom for your business?”
